SUPPORT OF DEVELOPMENTAL ASSETS FOR YOUTH

At a joint meeting June 8, 2011, the Board of Education and the City Council of Morgan Hill adopted a joint resolution in support of the 41 developmental assets as defined by Project Cornerstone and identified them as essential building blocks for youth development which affect all of the residents in the City of Morgan Hill and the Morgan Hill Unified School District.

PRESENTATION – EXEC DIRECTOR PROJECT CORNERSTONE

Project Cornerstone Executive Director Anne Ehresman gave the following presentation at the joint Board of Education-Morgan Hill City Council meeting on June 8, 2011, describing Project Cornerstone, the developmental assets, and reporting results of a survey of youth in Santa Clara County, including Morgan Hill:

COMMUNITY WORKSHOP – CLAY ROBERTS PRESENTATION

On May 19, 2011, Clay Roberts, MS, a senior trainer with Vision Training Asssociates, was in Morgan Hill and held a community workshop at Live Oak High School entitled:  Developmental Assets – The Building Blocks to Community Success in School and in Life.  The event was co-sponsored by the Morgan Hill Unified School District, the City of Morgan Hill, Kaiser Permanente and Project Cornerstone.The 2-1/2 hour workshop covered:

  • an overview of the developmental assets
  • review of local Morgan Hill asset data
  • creating a local movement to develop assets at the individual and community level

The entire workshop was video-taped by Marty Cheek, Morgan Hill Access Television (MHAT) (Channel 19) and is available on DVD at the Morgan Hill Unified School District Office.  Call (408) 201-6001, or stop by the district office at 15600 Concord Circle; Morgan Hill, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (except holidays).
