Parcel Measure

Information about Potential Local Funding Measure

Morgan Hill Unified School District (MHUSD) provides an excellent, well-rounded education, empowering local students to succeed in school and in our diverse, global economy. All of our comprehensive secondary schools have been recognized as Gold Ribbon schools; the highest honor a school can achieve in California. With a strong foundation in core academic programs, our graduates go on to attend top colleges and universities and compete for 21stcentury careers.

Our students also have access to real-world educational programs with over 100 local businesses partnerships that the district has made, however our district faces ongoing funding challenges. Many districts in Santa Clara County receive as much as 56% more per pupil than we do here in Morgan Hill. MHUSD schools need stable, reliable, local revenue that will help preserve the quality education our community expects.

To maintain core academic programs and retain quality teachers, a dedicated local source of funding is needed. While no final decisions have been made, the Morgan Hill Unified School District Board of Trustees is considering placing a 5 year, $75 per parcel annual education parcel tax on a future ballot in 2018.
