Traffic around Live Oak High School, East Main Avenue, and Hill Road will be Impacted by Water Pipeline Project

MADRONE PIPELINE RESTORATION PROJECT

Joel Jenkins is the Senior Engineer for the Pipeline Project Delivery Unit of the Santa Clara Valley Water District’s Main Avenue Project. Mr. Jenkins sent Morgan Hill School District staff with a status report of the Madrone Pipeline Restoration Project, which is currently under construction on East Main Avenue east of Live Oak High School near Hill Road. This will have a direct traffic impact for our students, staff, their parents, and others traveling in that area so we believe it is important to alert our community.

Starting next week, construction activities will necessitate road closures and detours that will affect traffic patterns in the vicinity of the school. The Project leaders are working with and have gain authorization from the City of Morgan Hill and the County of Santa Clara for the installation of these traffic control measures. The approved traffic control plan map in this message will be used to implement detours, signage, and monitors for the impending work. We were told that the impending work and the associated traffic impacts will commence next week and should last for approximately three (3) to four (4) weeks. They are installing multiple messages boards to provide advanced warning and detour recommendations.

On behalf of the Santa Clara Valley Water District and the Pipeline Project Delivery Unit, Mr. Jenkins apologized for the inconvenience that the construction period will cause. Should anyone need to communicate with Water District staff about the project or the impact, questions and concerns can be addressed by calling:
