Announcement: Board of Education Vacancy Trustee Area 7

Morgan Hill, CA — As announced on December 7, 2018,a vacancy will be created on the Morgan Hill Unified School District Board of Education when Board Member Teresa Murillo’s resignation becomes effective on January 31, 2018.

The Board will be accepting applications to fill this position at the district office daily starting December 17, 2018 from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm and ending January 15, 2019. Interested persons must complete the application which includes a statement of no more than 200 words expressing why the applicant is interested in the Board position. A complete copy of the application will be available at the office of the Superintendent, Morgan Hill Unified School District, 15600 Concord Circle in Morgan Hill. Please note, the district office will be closed December 24 until January 2, 2019.

Following a review of the submitted materials, the Board will schedule interviews with selected candidates. Candidates should be available for interviews to be held in open session at a Special Board meeting on January 23, 2019.

It is anticipated the Board’s selection and appointment of the candidate to fill this position will take place at the Special Board Meeting, January 23, 2019. If the process is not completed at this meeting, another Special Board Meeting has been tentatively scheduled for January 24, 2019.

On February 5, 2019, the new Board member for Trustee Area 7 will be seated and the oath of office will be administered.

To be considered as a candidate, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Reside in Morgan Hill Unified School District Trustee Area 7. To find your Trustee Area, please visit www.mhusd.org and click Find Your Trustee.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Citizen of the State
  • Registered Voter

The application must be received in the District Office by 5:00 pm on January 15, 2019.  Any application received after 5:00 pm of January 15, 2019 will not be accepted.
